Kyte's services are split across two data suites, located in distinct sites at its London headquarters, in order to provide resilience and, consequently, to improve stability. The core network has been dually-distributed as have all key systems wherever possible, creating the fastest network access times and a fully fault-tolerant environment.
Servers hosted in these facilities have the option of 1 Gbps Cat6 or fibre optic connections which are patched directly into the network core. This arrangement, combined with state-of-the-art switching technology, yields the very fastest possible round trip times. Fibre patching between components also allows for ultra fast access to disk arrays and networked components from every cabinet, creating one of the first (and fastest) production environments of its kind in the City.
Every cabinet is supplied with two distinct phases and, by using N+1 redundant power supply servers, Kyte ensures that service uptime remains as high as possible. A diesel powered generator supplies Kyte's extensive Uninterrupted Power Supply systems to cope with external failures in the National Grid. All mission critical devices at Kyte are monitored 24:7 using a proprietary monitoring system with automated alerting functionality. This attention to detail has resulted in an IT service availability at Kyte of 99.95% during the last 12 months.
